Hugo is a litigator and general practitioner with over ten years of courtroom experience. He began his career in the litigation department of a top AM 100 law firm in New York City. There, he handled a variety of cases relating to, among others, commercial litigation, small business disputes, allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligence, internal investigations, and trademark infringement.

After his time working at a large law firm, Hugo worked for a mid-size firm managing general liability claims, including premises liability, construction injuries, motor vehicle crashes, product liability, and other negligence claims. He currently represents clients facing legal issues including personal injury claims, breach of contract, negligence, fraud, and malpractice.

During law school, Hugo was an editor at the Cardozo Law Review. He also participated in Cardozo’s Innocence Project Clinic, where he assisted in representing individuals with claims of wrongful conviction and seeking exoneration based on DNA evidence. He also dedicated significant time to assisting pro bono clients with immigration issues, as well as helping local artists with intellectual property disputes.
